Have you ever been driving around with one or more of your friends in the car? Maybe you were even setting off fireworks from inside...... but anyway- have you ever gotten really hungry and felt it was time for a fast-food pit stop? Well, I have!! And I can tell you the debating really heats up when we can't decide on where to stop. Many a good night have been spoiled due to a simple argument of McDonald's versus Wendy's. "I don't want McDonald's, its too greasy"-- "What does it matter if its greasy. You're already fat anyway"--" At least Wendy's serves real meat. Only God knows what's in Mickey D's mystery patties, and I'm not even sure He knows all of the ingredients"--"I think we should go to Qdobas"--"Zach, shut up! It isn't open. And by the way, its Qdoba"--"Colin would you keep your eyes on the road. You almost hit that guy on the bike"--"it's not my fault. Conor keeps hitting me with s***. And what's that guy riding a bike for at one anyway?"--"Yeah, if its one then Mickey D's will be the only place open anyways"--"Jimmy, we are not going to McDonalds, you're the only one who eats that garbage. How about Big Kahuna's?"--"That's fine"--"Good with me"--"Aight"--"Sure thing Biff"--"Alright Colin, take us to Keystone!"
"What about Tacobell?"
"Zach!!! What did I say about talking!! And nobody wants TacoHell. Especially considering what it does to Jimmy's stomach"
This is an accurate description of what goes down in The Grove when the Namers can't decide on where to eat. And, yes, we almost always end up going to Big Kahuna's. And, yes, we almost always have to tell Zach to shut up more than once. Until next time....

Dear Jimmy,
ReplyDeleteWOW. Thank you for this brilliant and detailed description of how your weekends are spent. It is absolutely riveting. The dialogue between you and your friends is certainly unique and hilarious. But I don't think you're fat so enjoy the grease, screw your buddies.
This is 100% true, however, I don't think you accurately depicted how often Zach says dumb things.
ReplyDeleteJimbo, your article is an honest depiction of the love and support seen between the Holy Namers every time we hang out. Your witty banter is exceedingly comical. It made me smile, I read it twice.
ReplyDeleteVery typical debate subject. Happens all the time with my indecisive friends. I was glad to read through a common situation and found it quite funny
